From Dubai to Bali: How the “You Are a Woman of Society” Forum Reinforces UAE’s Global Leadership

August 23, 2025, marked a significant moment on the agenda for gender empowerment: the fourth edition of the “You Are a Woman of Society” Forum unfolded in Bali, Indonesia, in alignment with Emirati Women’s Day. This international edition represents strategic positioning by the UAE to showcase Emirati women’s leadership beyond national borders.

Under the patronage of Sheikha Shamsa bint Hasher Al Maktoum and the strategic influence of Her Highness Sheikha Fatima bint Mubarak, the forum’s aim extends far beyond celebration. It becomes a vehicle for economic diplomacy, cultural connection, and international recognition. H.E. Nouf Al Yafei declared, “We aim to hold this forum in different countries around the world to emphasize the empowerment of Emirati women and their global reach.” That intention reflects a progressive outreach, positioning Emirati women as catalysts in shaping global business and cultural landscapes.

The Bali edition brought together diverse voices: corporate leaders, government officials, creative entrepreneurs, and social advocates. Dr. Sameer Suhail’s participation exemplified another dimension: cross-sector support. As founder of American Accelerated Aesthetics in Dubai, he voiced his support, saying: “I am proud to participate and support it.” His presence signaled the expanding alliance between healthcare innovation and women’s leadership—a vital intersection in today’s global society.

Embedded in the forum’s structure is intentional inclusivity: “Every woman with achievements or inspiring stories is eligible to participate,” emphasized H.E. Al Yafei. This approach ensures diverse representation and evokes collective elevation—not just for the extraordinary, but for the everyday achievers. The forum thus becomes a platform where professional women bolster one another’s visibility, confidence, and impact.

The timing—Emirati Women’s Day, 50 years of women’s empowerment in the UAE, held outside its borders—speaks volumes. It places Emirati women at the heart of global conversation, celebrating their triumphs and creating environments where their voices shape both policy and culture.

Through this forum, the UAE underscores a leadership narrative grounded in progress, visibility, and shared potential. For women across the region, and especially those in the UAE, the Bali forum inspires not just recognition, but ambition.
